Happy Easter

This was the first Easter Christian understood who the Easter Bunny is. Weeks leading up to the Easter Bunny's visit, Christian would talk about how the bunny was going to hide his eggs.

So we did an outside Easter egg hunt on Saturday. And on Sunday we hid eggs along with his basket.

The Easter Bunny brought Christian a Cars race track, a Spiderman action figure, a Woody shirt, books, and candy.

Christian's favorite Easter candy? Jelly Beans. Recent Christian quotes about jelly beans: "I eat jelly beans all the time!" and my favorite: "I am a jelly bean!!"

Imma and Papa came to visit for Easter. Christian was so excited to see his Papa. He has been very sad ever since Papa had to go home and has been struggling with separation anxiety. But I keep telling him we will see Papa again very soon.

Keeping Up with Christian

To my childhood delight, Christian has discovered Big Wheels. The Big Wheel in these pictures actually belongs to our daycare provider, Shannon. We regularly transport it between our houses because Christian believes it belongs to him and he loves it. Richard gave him some old wrenches and Christian pretends to fix it.

We've been trying to find a used one for him.

He loves toy motorcycles. He had his first tantrum at daycare over a toy motorcycle (he didn't want to share).

This is the first year Christian is excited about Easter. He saw the Trix bunny on his yogurt and said, "Mommy! The bunny is going to hide eggs! He's going to bring me treats!" I'm excited about this Easter.

My Silly Christian

Christian has changed so much. He no longer cares about Cookie Monster although he will hug is Cookie Monster doll if he finds him. He loves racing his cars around the dining room table and every other surface. He pretends he is playing Mario Cart and gets hit with "sea shells".
He is unbelievably good at putting puzzles together. He loves to pretend he's wearing "Mama's pants" so that I'll chase him.
Christian's new thing is have "crazy feet". He kicks his feet in all directions and even has a little dance to go with it.
And he's fascinated with Spiderman.
Favorite foods: grapes, strawberries, chicken, and mac & cheese.
Favorite toys: toy motorcycle, toy plane
Shirt he'd wear every day if I let him: his blue Spiderman shirt

Christian Growing Up

Wow - it's been a long time since I posted on Christian's website. It's so hard to find time these days.

Christian is thriving and growing every day. One day he just started talking in completed sentences: "No Mama. That is not up." or "I do not eat that." (It usually involves the word "no" or "not")

He has grown out of Cookie Monster although he still likes to watch Cookie Monster on YouTube.

Christian loves farm animals (he wanted to be a goat for Halloween) & trucks (especially semi and contruction trucks). He loves to color, "cook", and read books. He loves movies and has mastered every DVD player that's crossed his path.

Christian loves his Papa Steve. And when asked, says he's his best friend.

Christian Turns 2!

Christian turned 2 on June 22. I can't believe he is 2 already. He has evolved from a sweet baby to a silly, adorable, wonderful toddler. He loves to give hugs and kisses. He loves his Cookie Monsters and books. He talks! His conversations revolve around Papa's truck, Daddy's truck, who is sleeping and pooping. =)
He is learning to potty train (by his own choice). He learns new things every day. (Today he learned how to give an Eskimo kiss).
Christian is curious about everything. He notices when one thing is different in the room. He has to know what Logger is doing at all times. He loves his friends and talks about them constantly.
And I can't believe he's 2!
